What it's like
The main pool runs along the shore rather than out to sea, so it is easy to swim laps with the ocean beside you. Broad concrete steps along one side catch the sun and make a good place to sit. A separate toddlers pool suits small children.
It is one of the more recent pools in the region, built in the mid-1960s, and it reopened in 2019 after a major refurbishment.
When to go
Calm days on a rising tide are best. Council publishes estimated cleaning dates that can change with the sea and weather, so check before you go.
Getting there and facilities
The pool is off Robert Cram Drive, Bellambi, next to a children's playground and the shared coastal pathway. Facilities are basic: an outdoor cold shower and a picnic shelter.
Good to know
There are no lifeguards at the pool. Bluebottles sometimes wash in on summer days.
