What this is
SwimSpot is an independent guide to the ocean pools, rock pools and natural pools of the NSW coast: where they are, what they are like, how to get there, what facilities they have and the latest official water quality nearby. It is not run by any council, pool operator or government agency.
Who runs it
The site is owned and run by Recess Kitchen Pty Ltd, an Australian company.
How we put the pages together
We research each pool from several places: the councils and operators that manage the pools, heritage and local history records, regional and state tourism guides, and open data. We write every page in our own words and check facts against more than one source where we can. Water quality comes from the NSW Beachwatch open data feed (licensed CC BY 4.0), and maps use OpenStreetMap data.
Corrections
Pools close, get rebuilt and change their hours. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us on the contact page and we will check it and fix the page.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site may carry advertising and affiliate links in future. Ads are labelled. We do not sell places in the guide or change what we say about a pool for money. If you book or buy through an affiliate link we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
Safety
This guide is general information, not safety advice. Ocean and rock pools are affected by tides, swell and weather; natural pools add depth, algae and rock hazards. Check local signs and the managing authority before you swim, supervise children closely, and avoid swimming for three days after heavy rain.
