What it's like
The pool sits on the rock platform at Towradgi, with views north and south along the coast. The main pool runs just over Olympic length, so it is a serious lap pool, and the separate toddlers pool is shallow and sheltered for small children.
It was built by volunteers from the local community in the 1960s, and a plaque at the pool dedicates it to the local school children who served in the armed forces in the two world wars. Council closed it for six months in 2020 for a major upgrade, and it reopened that November.
When to go
Mornings on a calm day are best. Waves wash over the wall at high tide in a swell. Council publishes estimated cleaning dates that can move with the weather and sea, so check before you go.
Getting there and facilities
The pool is on Towradgi Road, Towradgi, with parking nearby. There are toilets, change rooms and showers.
Good to know
There are no lifeguards at the pool, though the beaches on either side are patrolled in season. The rocks around the pool are slippery.
