What it's like
This is a natural pool in the rock platform rather than a built one. It is small: the water is only deep enough for a swim over a few metres, so it is a place for a dip, a float and a look at the rock pool life rather than laps. At low tide it becomes a shallow, safe paddling pool for young children.
When to go
For a proper swim, go at or near high tide; a few hours either side of low tide it is too shallow. Calm days are best. For small children, low tide on a calm day is ideal.
Getting there and facilities
Drive through the Mollymook golf course to the parking area near the water, or walk around the headland from Mollymook Beach. Toilets, change rooms and a shower are about 200 m away. There is no cafe at the pool; Mollymook's cafes are a short drive. Ulladulla's ocean pool is about five minutes further south.
Good to know
There are no lifeguards. The rock platform is slippery and can be washed by waves in a swell.
